Book Drive!

I was saddened by the news of the fire at Crestline Elementary this morning! I would like to put out a call for action for members of our community and elsewhere to provide relief for Crestline Elementary. I graduated two years ago from the master in teaching program at WSU-Vancouver. Through my experiences in that program and growing up as the daughter of a teacher I know how much teachers invest in their own classroom libraries. I decided to run a book drive with the purpose of rebuilding teacher libraries. Here's how you can help:

Donate Books!
Collect books, fiction and non-fiction, appropriate for children in grades K-5.  Donate them at a drop-off location or by contacting to schedule a pick up.
Drop-off Location:
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 13600 SE McGillivray Blvd.
Tuesday, February 12th from 6pm-8pm or Saturday, February 23rd from 10am-12pm.

Donate Money!
Visit and click the link to donate funds. These funds will be used only to purchase new and used books and teacher texts for individual teachers and their classrooms.

Donate Time!
Email with your contact information if you'd like to volunteer. Opportunities might include contacting community agencies, organizing donated books or picking books up from members of the community, and share this blog with others.
